Dare 2 Share - Starlight, Starbright...
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
Colossians 1:15-16
Perhaps like me you rolled out of bed on Thanksgiving morning and flipped on the tube to catch part of the Macy' s Parade. It's a pretty big deal, you know- big balloons, famous people, and special talents broadcast around the world.
It's kinda funny, because this year I noticed that they end the parade with a huge tribute to the star of the show. The star in this case is our favorite diet challenged "big guy" himself: Santa Claus. Maybe that's because I've heard that Santa Claus is comin to town or something. Was I missing something? Here all along I thought that Jesus was the reason for the Christmas season. I guess in all the parade planning Macy's forgot that.
Long before Macy's celebration, there was another parade that had the right idea. It was the wise men from the east, and they followed a literal star in order to worship and celebrate the bright and morning star: Christ the Son of God. And y'know what? Wise people still seek Him.
Colossians 1:15-16 reminds us that Jesus made the whole world and everything in it, and He made it so His Name would be made great! This season let 's focus on the Creator of all things and parade the true Star: Jesus Christ
Questions:
1) In what ways can you demonstrate that Jesus is the "reason for the season" to:
Your friends
Your family
Your enemies
Your Lord
2) Would you commit to sharing the gospel with one person in your life who doesn't know Christ?
